I was texting a dear friend who was going through a deep heartache, and she responded with this verse. It is not a trite statement, but one born out of trust for the One who gives us “steadfast love.”  The emotion of this passage is palpable. We each have felt a level of this same weariness, and can also experience the same hope and satisfaction in seeing God.

The writer of this passages speaks of his pain as if he is “in a dry and weary land where there is no water.” I came across these spiny plants in the dry California dessert. They remind me of this word picture.

This watercolor painting is on heavy textured paper. Reproduction giclee prints are printed on fine textured watercolor paper and look like an original. The paintings are unframed, and will arrive to you in a clear protective plastic sleeve with a stiff backing board. To protect either an original or print, place the artwork in a frame behind glass.

Printed to Order: Presale orders will take approximately 3 weeks to arrive to you.

About the Faith vs. Fear Collection

Earlier in this year of 2020, I planned out my year. I planned out some of the art I also wanted to make. As we all skidded to a stop with Covid-19 and our plans pivoted, I realized I also wanted to redirect my art to include a collection of Bible verses. My mind and heart need Scripture to face the disturbing news, sadness, disappointment, and fear—to turn my thoughts to the hope, love, perfect peace, and thankfulness from Scripture.

In the midst of planning and painting these pieces, Americans were also stirred by the unjust acts against several black men that were made public. I’ve been trying to listen and learn, all under the filter of how God explains life, sin, relationships, and thinking in the Bible. It is a lot. And it is a slow process of understanding and applying, but one worth pursuing.

These 10 verses are a collection about Faith vs. Fear. Some speak of the strength and peace that God gives, and others address our response of prayer and thanksgiving in times of uncertainty and fear. I know these words will work in your heart as they have in mine, because they are God’s words that “do not return void.”

It has been satisfying to place these beautiful words in lovely botanical settings and elegant calligraphy. Since making verse art this past year, I’ve loved having verses placed and framed around my home. They remind me of truth in daily moments. I hope you’ll enjoy the visual and meaningful beauty they add to your home, too.
